Martha Wayles Skelton Jefferson Portraits

There are no known portraits of Martha Wayles Skelton Jefferson (1748-1782). Various images appear from time to time that are supposedly of Jefferson's wife, but to our knowledge none have been conclusively proven to be genuine.

There is a silhouette image, which many sources claim is of Martha Jefferson (see [1]), but as far as we know this is not an image of Thomas Jefferson's wife, and may not even date to the colonial period.
