Paint color in Jefferson’s bedroom, Cabinet, and Library

The paint in these rooms it is not an original color. The spaces where it’s used were all wallpapered originally. But, unfortunately, there’s not enough information to re-create it. A neutral color was chosen back in the 1970’s.

At that time, it was produced by Glidden and was a stock color. However, their paint line has changed since then and, as far as I know, is no longer available from them.

More recently, the color was matched for use at another of the Foundation’s facilities. The manufacturer is Porter Paints. The product and formula is:

Exterior Blinds (shutters)

The green paint for the exterior blinds (shutters) was custom formulated based on a surviving slat found in the attic. The specifics are:

Product - AcriShield Acrylic Gloss, 614 Ultra Deep Base
