Thomas Claxton

Thomas Claxton was a purchasing agent for furniture for Thomas Jefferson. He was instrumental in buying furnishings for the President's House when Jefferson was president. Claxton worked with powerful Republicans in Congress to increase the initial appropriations for the house by $14,000.
